Knobstone Flower Farm is owned and cared for by David & Lisa Coates. We are blessed with a beautiful 35 acre farm that has several fields and a 3 acre lake with breathtaking views! We spent the past few years operating The Oak Barrel Tour Company which provided bourbon and wine tours. Due to the pandemic, we decided to try our hand at Agritourism with an emphasis on the joy that flowers bring to most people. The response has been simply amazing and because of you, we are expanding to add to our unique flower experiences!

We would like to invite you out to the farm to enjoy our 1/2 acre of cut flowers and specialty sunflowers! We also have over 1 ½ acres of wildflowers and a 3 acre sunflower field that we call our Sunflower Experience and Wildflower Explosion! We are open seasonally from early July to late October. Our hours are Saturdays and sundays 1 pm to 5 pm and weekday evenings by appointment. We can also accommodate small groups and professional photographers and their clients for weekday evening appointments by reservation. Please call, text or message for more information, 812-725-2055.
U-pick flowers are a fun filled family and friends activity! Come visit us out in the country with fresh wide open spaces, fresh air and beautiful views. We provide floral snips for you to use to cut the flower and sunflower stems directly from our field. We have a nice selection of Mason jars if you want to take a bouquet home without having to bring a container, or you may bring your own jars and vases. Prices are reasonable and average $15 to $20 for a flower bouquet. Our sunflowers start to bloom in July and we charge $1 - $2 per stem depending on the variety. We recommend 12 - 18 flower stems with some filler greenery (always free) in a Mason quart jar or vase. We will help arrange a really nice flower bouquet for you to take home for a very reasonable charge. Your fresh cut flowers should last a week or longer!
We offer many photo opportunities especially once the sunflowers and wildflowers are in bloom! We enjoy sharing our farm and flowers and hope that you will appreciate the opportunity to take many photos to share while visiting us! We are able to make reservations for professional photographers to bring their clients for a variety of picture settings including senior, family, friends, maternity and baby, engagement and glamour shots! Please check us out on social media and spread the word to help our small business grow! We really appreciate “Likes”, “Shares”, “Check-ins”, “Recommendations & Reviews” and especially your comments and photos from your visit. Our business is “grounded & growing” on customer service and we really want you have an amazing experience while visiting Knobstone Flower Farm !
how does the flower u-pick work?
Once you arrive at the flower shed, we go over the different options for flower bouquets and cost. We also review how you pick flowers to make the best possible bouquet. You pick up a bucket and floral snips that we provide. You then head out and pick the flowers that you chose! On return to the flower shed, we ask if you want your flowers wrapped in paper or arranged in a mason jar.
do i need to bring something to cut flowers?
You are welcome to bring scissors or floral snips to cut your flowers. We can provide floral snips as well. We ask that you return our floral snips in the plastic bin labeled "dirty" and we clean them with alcohol after each use.
DO I NEED TO BRING A CONTAINER FOR PICKING FLOWERS?
You are welcome to bring containers to take flowers home especially if you are traveling more than 30 minutes. We can wrap your flowers in paper or arrange them in a mason jar that either we or you provide. Many people bring buckets for larger amounts of flowers or their own vases for us to design a flower bouquet for them to take home.
do you allow photos to be taken?
We allow and encourage you to take photos during your visit! Photos taken with your cell phone or digital camera are free when you are picking flowers in the u-pick garden. We do offer opportunities to book professional photos as well for a reason cost. These reservations are typically for professional photographers taking family and senior pictures for example.
